I Wish You Were Here - Chelsea Musick
(C. Musick, N. Peaytt, A. Hacket) Copyright 2007

I took your picture off the wall
And put it by the bed
Helps on those sleepless nights
When I could use a friend

When I look in the mirror
I see your face
But it’s so hard to be mad
When there’s no one here to blame

And I never thought I’d have to let you go
Never thought I’d say goodbye
I never thought I’d see
The day my daddy cried
I guess I better go
Just wanted to say hello
And I miss you more with every tear
Signed, “I wish you were here”

I know that you love me
I still feel it in my heart
Sometimes it’s like you’re here
But we’re so far apart

I have so many questions
I just want to understand
If God can take you from us
Why can’t he bring you back

You were the one who helped me through the day
The one who wiped my tears away
Now what am I supposed to do
No one talked to me like you

 The Story Behind the Song

I was inspired to write this song for my friends who have lost their mothers to cancer this past year. They were my neighbors and friends. I watched them go through such heartache as I stood by and couldn't find the words to say. My grandmother was also treated for colon-cancer a few years back I realized that I could do something special. I decided to write a song so that they would always be able to connect to the love they still have through spirit. I remember my great-grandmother passing a few years ago. I thought of her and the love I have her still to this day. During this year, I have meet so many people with a family member that has cancer now or has passed away due to cancer. Lets work together and support to find a cure!

My name is Chelsea Musick. Pronounced like "music"...I love my last name...it's not a stage name either! I am 14 years old. My birthday is June 27th. I was born in Tennessee. I live in New Jersey. Someday, I would love to go back to Tennessee and live with lots of animals...dogs, cats, horses, rabbits...so on

Singing is something very special to me. I performed live for the first time when I was 2 years old. Over the years I have performed for many people/functions including three past/present NJ Governors, State Senators, The Philadelphia 76ers, Madison Square Garden, The Colgate Country Showdown, Our Township Veterans, The Camden Riversharks, Multiple Charity Events, Church Functions, and many other events. If someone calls me to sing for them I am honored!!!!
The Veterans are really special to me. My dad is one of them! He was in the 101st Airborne/Air Assault Division. He spent 10 months in the desert in the first Gulf War on the Iraq/Saudi border.

When I was 9, I was on NBC'S AMERICA'S MOST TALENTED KID. This was an eye opening experience for me and I am grateful for going on the show. I learned sooooo much at the age of 9 that many people never learn in their entire life. My goal is and ALWAYS has been to be a Country Recording Artist.
I play a Taylor guitar, sing, songwrite and I am teaching myself how to play the fiddle. I am a Christian. I'm thankful and feel blessed to be giving the gifts of music from GOD. God is always there to walk beside me. I may stumble but I know he is ALWAY there to guide me.

Andy Hacketgrew up on a llama ranch in the small mountain town of Carbondale, CO. He began studying bluegrass guitar and classical piano at age seven and classical guitar at 11. Although his family moved to La Veta, CO (pop. 800) his junior year of high school, Andy’s parents continued to make the seven-hour round trip to Denver twice a month so Andy could study with world-renowned guitar virtuoso Ricardo Iznaola. By the time Andy graduated high school he had decided that manual labor was not really his thing, and, after four years and a BM degree in Classical Guitar performance from the University of Colorado at Boulder, formed the folk-rock band, Acoustic Radio. After touring with Acoustic Radio for several years, Andy left the band, dropped out of CU’s Master of Music program and moved to Nashville, TN in 2006 to develop his songwriting.

Andy has won several major competitions, including the National Foundation For Advancement in the Arts (NFAA), two full scholarships to attend the Aspen Music School, The Music Teacher’s National Assocaition (MTNA) competition (state and regional), the Stars of Tomorrow Talent show and many others. He is currently in the studio working on his newest album to be released in November, 2007, with spring 2008 tour dates to follow, so please check back!!!

In the mean time, Acoustic Radio, “Staring at the Celing” can be purchased at www.CDBaby.com/AcousticRadio or on itunes and most other digital sites!
